Sergio Femar (Spain, 1990) divides his time between Galicia, Spain, and Germany. His artistic practice encompasses painting, sculpture, and installation, focusing on environmental concerns. Femar's work explores nature's generative and destructive capacities, capturing its inherent power and intent. His approach is to dominate the space he works in, bringing nature's cycles of creation and decay into his artistic expression.
Femar's international education in Fine Arts, which he completed with honors at the University of Salamanca, has laid a strong foundation for his evolving career. Since graduating, he has broadened his horizons by participating in several prestigious artist residencies, including GlogauAIR in Berlin, Plantage Dok - Kanaal10 Foundation in Amsterdam, and The Drake in Toronto. These diverse experiences have enriched his practice, allowing him to explore different environments and incorporate new perspectives into his work.
His artwork has been showcased in numerous solo European exhibitions, including at Ginsberg+TZU in Madrid, Tourrette in Paris, KSTN Berlin, Galerie Biesenbach in Cologne, and Víctor Lope in Barcelona. Femar's exhibitions highlight his ability to merge his environmental concerns with a keen understanding of space, creating immersive experiences that resonate with his audience. His ongoing exploration of the intersection between nature and art continues to push the boundaries of his creative expression.
