Intimacy 021

2019
Sonja Subatovic explores the trivialization of intimacy in today's world, questioning its characteristics and limits and how it can be maintained in the presence of an observer. The works reflect the corruption of emotions, the saturation due to oppression and abuse in close relationships, and how the concept of love can hurt. Using black and white and cut-out fragments of intimacy, the drawings invite the viewer to fill in the gaps, creating a sense of boundary and limited space. The absence of specific names for the works and the use of numbers suggest the trivialization of intimacy and allow for free interpretation with a repetitive pattern that reinforces these concepts.
