Yanel Sánchez (Caracas, Venezuela, 1981) creates forms based on curved lines using digital brushes, skillfully combining colors and inks. He masters the color theory of Newton, Goethe, Itten, and Munsell and applies this chromatic knowledge to his work. His flat surfaces generate convex visual effects (optical illusions) that cause the eye to perceive movements and twists in opposing trajectories. Using algorithms, Sánchez combines “art, science, and technology” in his work. His technical means are convincing and produce remarkable aesthetic results. The artist merges two currents in his proposal: Op Art and Digital Art.
