Unique Work
Yosman Botero (Colombia, 1983) studied Fine Arts at the University of Antioquia, where he received multiple recognitions, such as first place in the UdeA National Culture Awards and the TerraUNA Artistic Residency Scholarship in Minas Gerais, Brazil. These achievements boosted his career and led him to exhibit in various countries, including the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Korea, Russia, Spain, Venezuela, and Colombia.
His childhood, living on the border between Colombia and Venezuela, profoundly influenced his work as he experienced the dynamics of constant migratory flow and violence. These events eventually led him to move to Medellín. The landscape, territory, and power relations within the context of the armed conflict are the thematic bases that structure his body of work. Botero focuses on his Colombian context and, at times, on Latin American dynamics.
He uses various techniques, such as drawing, painting, installation, and video, to create his artistic pieces.
